Gowalla the missing link for International Check-Ins on Facebook

For the time being it looks like Gowalla may be the only way for users to check-in to international locations on Facebook. Impatient international users could be big news for Gowalla’s growth in the short run.

Interesting… Using @Gowalla may be the only way to add a check-in to Facebook Places for international users for a while.

Looks like Gowalla is going to be integrating with the much hyped Facebook Places. More to come on this soon I hope.

Starting tomorrow, Gowalla check-ins you chose to post to Facebook will automatically be shared as check-ins—not simply a status update. 🙂

New Feature: Like a Spot on Facebook

Ben Dodson and Jo Carter pointed me towards the new integration of the Facebook ‘Like’ feature on all the Spots on Gowalla. All this really does is keep a count of all the Gowalla users who Like a Spot and add a link on your Facebook profile back to the Gowalla Spot page. Nothing revolutionary, but Gowalla likely sees it as a way to increase awareness via Facebook.
