Ben Dodson the guy behind has moved the site and relaunched it as, “a series of apps for Gowalla that provide additional functionality such as item finders, detailed statistics, STE functions, and low-data usage.”

Along with the new site comes a new iPhone app called Wallabee Travel-Edition.

I’ll be trying everything out over the next couple of days and will give a full review early next week.

3rd Party Tools: The Gowalla Tools Map

Don’t know how I missed this for so long, but I’m back with a review of another one of great tools for Gowalla.

The Gowalla Tools Map is a nice addition. Zoom in on a location and click the Redraw button and it will show you the 200 most recently added spots. (Red for ones you’ve already visited and green for places you’ve yet to go.)

That alone is pretty cool, but the real beauty is the ItemFinder button in the upper right. Click on that and it will go through the map and check each location against your profile and tell you where you can find Items you don’t have yet.

Looks like I’m headed to the Courthouse to pick up some S’mores.
